I ever said that I'm a lifetime dreamer. The above picture was one of 'dream comes true' moment in my life. It was taken in the very beginning of Autumn 2014, at Inverleith Park, Edinburgh.
Going abroad would never be this fun if I went by myself. Given the risks of 'relationship crisis' that might happen to both of you for such a long distance relationship, living together avoid those risks. Rather it gives you the chance to strengthen the bond between you and your spouse. *Apologise for the fact that this post is going to be a bit cheesy*
There will be some (read: most of) part in your postgraduate life when you feel so stressful with the course-works. They always come together, sometime without asking for permission which should be done the first time. There support from your partner plays a very significant role for your emotional stability. Yes, of course you might say that you can do it by yourself, overcome all problems by yourself, yet together will always be better, right? :)
The other reason could be to the chance to explore the country (even the world if you have enough reserve in you bank account :p). You might say it's an extended honey moon (that becoming honey year). Here some collections of our trip to some cities in the UK:
Chatsworth House
University of Glasgow
Tower Bridge, London
Old Trafford, Manchester
Nottingham Castle
Sheffield City Council
National Railway Museum, York
Last but not least, improve your cooking skills! As you should carefully manage your expense, 'living for two' using 'budget for one', cook your own meals is one of the best option. Back to exactly a year ago, I even didn't know what the difference between whole pepper and coriander, such a shame!
Life is full of choices, and I have chosen him to be part of my life. I confess that as a lifetime commitment. The opportunity sharing with him the first ever living experience in the UK, has always been making me to thank God for every microsecond happiness God showered me in my life.
Thanks God, I'm going abroad with him.
Cheers,
Ika
